Knights of the round…. spot!

Saturday April 16th saw the Holy Trinity Knights taking penalties at half time in the Wycombe vs Northampton match at Adams Park.

The Knights (under 9s) were the latest HTJFC team to be awarded this honour following the Dragons and Rangers earlier this year and the Eagles and Hawks last season.

The match itself was another big one for the Chairboys who by virtue of coming back from 0-2 down to gain a 2-2 draw, managed to hang on to the 3rd automatic promotion place in League 2, in front of another good sized crowd.

There was a special cheer for the Knights both during the shoot-out and when they ran round the pitch afterwards. Their team manager Geoff Hutchinson sends this report on their special treat: “The Knights really enjoyed our experience at Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday where we took penalties on the Adams Park pitch at half time. We were looked after brilliantly by the club – the boys got to meet Wanderers players Gareth Ainsworth and Stuart Green before the game and we then walked the hallowed turf to have a team photo. At half time the boys were ushered into the home dugout where they waited to be called forward to take their spot kick in front of over 5000 fans. Everyone enjoyed the experience so much and hopefully it will act as an inspiration to the lads.”
