Knights Invincible

Knights 1Holy Trinity Knights completed a perfect league season with their 12th win from 12 games. A magnificent season was eventually rounded off in style despite a below par first half performance that saw them trail 2-0 in 5 minutes and 4-2 at half time.

However, with the wind and slope in their favour in the second half the mighty Knights ran riot with six unanswered goals, 4 of them from Oliver Baldwin which secured his place as the league’s leading goalscorer despite missing the previous 4 games through injury. The other goals were scored by Rhys Pepperall, Jake Roberts, Daniel Harris and Daniel Grimmett.

The performance in the second half typified the Knights season, with the boys pulling together, showing skill, pace and determination to overpower their opponents and score plenty of goals.

Throughout the season every single player has performed excellently and it is a tribute to all of them that they have been able to play so consistently well individually and as a team.

Knights 2At the start of the season the boys set themselves some targets: to win the league, to keep 5 clean sheets, for everyone to score a goal and to try and create plenty of chances in every game.

They have scored 91 goals in 15 league and cup games, kept 5 clean sheets and including friendly matches 20 of the 21 man squad have scored at least 1 goal – a terrific achievement in which they can feel justly proud.

These ‘Invincibles’ will now concentrate on practicing for the upcoming Hazlemere Sixes tournament with confidence sky high and the team bond and trust in each other stronger than ever.
