Nearly 40 golfers took part in this years Holy Trinity Golf Day held at Hazlemere Golf Club on Friday 8th July.

IMG_0659As usual the individual competition was for the Ted Rayner Memorial Trophy and this is it went to Steve Roy who managed a magnificent round scoring 40 points playing off a handicap of 20.

There to present the trophy was Matthew Rayner, who also took part in the day’s golf. Matt is the son of the late Ted Rayner who died in 2010 just a few months after competing with his son in the previous year’s event. As well as the trophy, Steve wins a £50 voucher to spend at Hazlemere GC.

Second with 35 points (on countback) was Daniel Paisley who wins a £30 voucher with Roger “Nods” Stewart third, taking home a £20 voucher.

Nearest the pin on the 5th hole was Glen Steele. Longest drive on the 7th and 12th went to John Dwelly and David Bevan respectivley. Steve Roy was probably the only player to find the green on the tricky 17th hole and so won that prize as well.

The team prize  went to John Horton, John Dwelly, David King and Roger Stewart with 109 points (best 3 scores out of 4 on each hole) but they were only  one ahead of Alan Cecil, Steve Roy, Paul Baldock and John Joe Horton.

This annual event is always popular and a provisional booking has been made at Hazlemere Golf Club for 2017 so if you want to be included please email alancecil@htjfc.org
