Christmas Treat for Luca

Seven year old Luca Massaro will be a match day mascot at the Boxing Day fixture between Wycombe Wanderers and Exeter City (kick off at Adams Park is 3pm)
Luca who attends Hazlemere C Of E School plays for Holy Trinity Dragons (under 8s) and was voted their Most Improved Player of the Season for 2010-11.
The other team he supports is Chelsea and his favourite Wycombe players are Scott Rendell and Dave Winfield. His hobbies are playing football and tennis plus riding his bike – hopefully not at the same time!
Enjoy your special day Luca. Hope you bring good luck to the Wanderers in the form of three points.
‘Golden Opportunity’ for young Wycombe fans
Wycombe Wanderers have teamed up with the Bucks Free Press to offer five youngsters the incredible opportunity to live the life of a professional footballer.
The ‘Golden Ticket’ initiative encourages fans between the ages of four and 16 to attend any of the Blues’ first seven home fixtures in the New Year to be in with a chance of being one of five winners of this once-in-a-lifetime prize. The more matches attended, the higher the chance of success.
The five winners will enjoy an exclusive training session with the Wycombe Wanderers first-team squad, including breakfast and lunch, full training kit, an autograph and photo session and their very own press conference where they’ll be quizzed about their experience.
Then they’ll also join the Blues for a matchday at Adams Park, arriving through the players’ entrance and receiving a tour of the stadium before taking part in the pre-match warm-up with the team. The winners’ names will be listed alongside the squad in the programme and they’ll gain access to the players’ lounge after the game after their post-match interview with the media.
Each winner will be featured in the Bucks Free Press and will receive copies of the newspaper, as well as professional photos and a certificate, to keep as a memento of this unforgettable experience.
Wanderers captain Gareth Ainsworth said: “This is a fantastic prize for any young fan and all of the players are really looking forward to welcoming the winners into the squad and showing them what being a footballer is all about!
“When I was growing up, I would have absolutely loved this opportunity and hopefully lots of mums and dads will buy lots of tickets for our matches to give their kids the best possible chance of winning.”
Application forms will be distributed to all primary and secondary schools and junior football clubs in the South Bucks area. All Platinum Members under the age of 16 will automatically be entered into the competition.
For further information, contact the club’s Community Trust Manager Ash Smith on ash.smith@wwfc.com.
Saturday night was a good night for charity
Gareth “Gaz” Ainsworth, the captain of Wycombe Wanderers sang at a charity gig held at Adams Park on Saturday 16th July, which raised about £3,200. These funds will help renovate a school in a remote and poor part of Brazil. as well as research into cancer. A donation will also be given to the Wycombe Wanderers Community Trust, which does so much good work every day in the local area.
The 38-year-old footballer (who used to sing in his own band) teamed up with local band Subrosa5 (a band that includes three die-hard Wanderers fans) and they entertained the packed Vere Suite with some classic rock covers with Ainsworth taking lead vocals.
The evening started off with a Hog Roast and later three comedians performed on stage as part of a fun-filled night which also included a fun quiz, DJ set, auction and raffle. All proceeds will go towards Cancer Research UK and Project Brazil, which last month saw volunteers renovating a school in a remote part of that country while also raising funds for clinical research back here into neuroblastoma.

One of those 20 volunteers and the organiser of this charity event, is former HT Junior now 23 year old Matt Cecil. Matt now works as a Media Assistant at Wycombe Wanderers and after jumping out of a plane last year in aid of servicemen’s charity took on this new exciting challenge for 2011 by joining the Project Brazil team.
If you were not able to make the event, then you can help Matt’s fundraising via this link http://www.justgiving.com/mattcecil87

Marvellous Monday for our Knight Daniel
Eight year old Daniel Holmes who plays for Holy Trinity Knights (team picture right)
was a match day mascot at Wycombe Wanderers on Easter Monday.
Daniel, who was nine the day after and attends Hazlemere C of E school, led out the home side for their match with Crewe Alexandra. The Chairboys then went onto win 2-0 with two goals from Scott Rendell (inc 1 penalty)
Daniel would have been one of the Holy Trinity Knights on the Wycombe pitch the previous Saturday for the half time penalty shoot out – see separate feature below. His favourite Wycombe player is skipper Gareth Ainsworth.
Knights of the round…. spot!
Saturday April 16th saw the Holy Trinity Knights taking penalties at half time in the Wycombe vs Northampton match at Adams Park.
The Knights (under 9s) were the latest HTJFC team to be awarded this honour following the Dragons and Rangers earlier this year and the Eagles and Hawks last season.
The match itself was another big one for the Chairboys who by virtue of coming back from 0-2 down to gain a 2-2 draw, managed to hang on to the 3rd automatic promotion place in League 2, in front of another good sized crowd.
There was a special cheer for the Knights both during the shoot-out and when they ran round the pitch afterwards. Their team manager Geoff Hutchinson sends this report on their special treat: “The Knights really enjoyed our experience at Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday where we took penalties on the Adams Park pitch at half time. We were looked after brilliantly by the club – the boys got to meet Wanderers players Gareth Ainsworth and Stuart Green before the game and we then walked the hallowed turf to have a team photo. At half time the boys were ushered into the home dugout where they waited to be called forward to take their spot kick in front of over 5000 fans. Everyone enjoyed the experience so much and hopefully it will act as an inspiration to the lads.”
8th April 2001 – were you there?

Today marks the 10th anniversary of the day when Wycombe Wanderers met Liverpool in the FA Cup Semi-Final at Villa Park
We all know now that the match was won 2-1 by the Reds but the Chairboys were not disgraced in what was a memorable day out for the nearly 20,000 fans supporting the Bucks side.
Tonight some of those players from 2001 returned to a sell out dinner held at Adams Park where a few of us were lucky to get a ticket for what was a tremendous evening, looking back at that wonderful cup run for our local team.
Former HT Girl is Soccer AM Soccerette

18 year old Lana Hurford was a star on Sky Sports Soccer AM programme last Saturtday morning.
We knew her as Alana when she played for Holy Trinity Hazlemere Girls at Under 14 level a few years ago and she is now training to be a police officer.
Her favourite Wycombe player is Kevin Betsy – pictured right . Lana admitted that her bedroom walls are adorned with pictures of Kevin. Hopefully he will soon return the compliment with some match winning goals for the Chairboys!
During the tv show Lana took part in Soccerette Mastermind and answered correctly 7 questions on her chosen subject of ‘Wycombe Wanderers since the year 2000′. She claims not to have missed a Wanderers game for 3 years – probably since stopping playing for HT Girls!
HT Juniors star in the spotlight

Some of our youngest members were given a star role on Bank Holiday Monday 3rd January at Adams Park.
Holy Trinity Under 7s and Under 8s (Dragons and Rangers) took centre stage for the half time penalty shoot out at the Wycombe Wanderers vs Gillingham match.
With goals flying in at either end it was difficult to keep count of the score between the Dragons at the home end and the Rangers at the away end. Unless anyone tells me different, let’s call it an honourable draw.
Here is a picture taken on their special day.
Oliver is a Wanderers Mascot!

5 year old Oliver Holmes was one of the match day mascots for the League 2 game on Saturday 16th October between Wycombe Wanderers and Chesterfield
Oliver is learning his football skills in the Holy Trinity Academy under the tutorship of Chris Bis. It was a big treat for Oliver who also celebrated his birthday in the same week. He attends Hazlemere Church of England school and when he is not playing football, Oliver can be seen on the tennis court working on his serve and volley. His favourite Wycombe players are skipper Gareth Ainsworth, Striker Jon-Paul Pittman and midfielder Kevin Betsy
Sadly Oliver’s appearance did not help WWFC gain a win as they went down 1-2 to the new League 2 leaders. Wycombe probably had the best of the game creating many chances from their attacking style of football, but it was the old story of ‘goals winning matches’ as the visitors took their opportunities helped by a couple of defence lapses by the home side.
Previously Jack Farmer (Holy Trinity Rangers) was one of the match day mascots at Wycombe Wanderers home game with Shrewsbury on September 25th. Seven year old Jack attends Hazlemere C of E school and loves riding his bike, swimming, running, kick boxing and playing with his friends. His WWFC hero is club captain Gareth Ainsworth. We hope you enjoyed your special day Jack. That day the game ended in a 2-2 draw with Wycombe scoring a late equaliser to send all their supporters home a little happier.
